Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Senior Digital Nurses, Change and Benefits lead providing clinical leadership to the wider multi-disciplinary Digital Programme team.
- Work alongside system suppliers and clinical configuration analysts to ensure clinical needs are understood and reflected in the Digital Programme deployment.
- Support staff training in using information technology; evidence progress of the programme within clinical areas through regular reports to the Digital Steering Group.
- Manage and be accountable for Senior Digital Nurses, Change and Benefits lead, and Clinical Digital Team.
- Responsible for budget management efficiencies; identify benefits both quantifiable and qualitative regarding transformation aligned with digital programme.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Ensure excellent communication with clinical staff, patients, patient representatives across Trust.
- Strive for excellence in care/treatment for patients/carers.
- Take responsibility alongside CCIO for strategic direction of digital health Informatics/technology design/implementation/delivery within Trust.
Advisory Role:
- Advise Chief Nurse, CCIO on implications of national/local policy/strategy development from a clinical digital perspective.
- Provide leadership/guidance supporting staff cooperation among clinicians/admins/users at all levels.
Transformation Leadership:
- Be responsible as Senior Clinical Nurse/Midwife/Allied Health Professional leader driving transformation/cultural change supporting safe/effective design/use of digital solutions improving patient care quality/outcomes.
- Promote innovation using new technology e.g., Artificial Intelligence; celebrate good practice through conferences/presentations/peer review.
Networking & Development:
- Lead/collaborate in Regional/National forums/networks (e.g., Regional CNIO Network).
- Keep abreast of developments advising Chief Nurse on national digital guidance implementation planning.
Digital Strategy Delivery:
- Lead/support delivery of innovative digital/information strategies enabling achievement of Trustβs vision within Patient First programme.
- Assess/manage clinical risk ensuring new systems have completed a digital safety case before implementation.
Model Development & Oversight:
- Shape new models integrating use of electronic health records leading efficient/safe/high-quality services.
- Maintain professional development attending relevant meetings/courses; coordinate cross-site development aligning with priorities.
Clinical Challenges Management:
- Oversee challenges ensuring timely communication/reporting steering groups/committees.
- Show empathy understanding sensitivity around changes providing reassurance/motivation during change programs.
Specialized Clinical Advice & Project Management:
- Provide specialized advice informing EPR rollout contributing effective diagnosis/treatment across services.
- Ensure project teams complete delegated tasks maintaining effective administration/coordinating communications/control throughout projects lifecycle.
Monitoring Progress:
- Monitor delegated project tasks/resources throughout lifecycle using Quality Improvement Methodology; initiate corrective actions as necessary within agreed boundaries.
- Report progress verbally/written through governance structure identifying issues impacting departments or wards involved.
Testing Strategies:
- Collaborate with Programme Director-DCR ensuring appropriate testing/audit strategies are established at any product lifecycle point; manage/report user-led testing programs evaluating outcomes/readiness for use while documenting risks clearly tracking them effectively ensuring patient safety remains central focus throughout all programs/projects initiated involving active participation from clinicians/patients/public forums during redesign processes/change initiatives across areas encouraging ownership/project communications maintenance actively participating governance mechanisms covering senior nursing/midwifery groups/trust management executive committees etc..
