Role Overview
Our client is recruiting a Lead Design Engineer for a Design Concession approval role. He/she will be supporting the Airbus Wing Component Delivery Teams (CDTs). The Wing Plant Engineering Team (PET) primary function is to provide Engineering support to the Airbus Broughton Plant and its Supply Chain, enabling Wings to be delivered to the Final Assembly Lines. The team identifies improvements, undertakes investigations, and provides technical solutions via Structural & Systems modifications for Design for Cost, Rate and Quality improvements. The successful applicant will be part of a fast-moving team that delivers high-quality Design solutions.
About The Role
This role provides support to the Plant Engineering team at Broughton Plant.
Tangible Deliverables
- Responsible for leading design investigations.
- Formulating technical solutions for Manufacturing Non-Conformances and Design Investigations ensuring that all Design, Airworthiness, and safety requirements are met.
- Must hold (or have held) design approval signatory in particular for manufacturing non-conformances (T200).
- Act as a focal point in leading and providing guidance on technical issues.
- Reporting required on critical technical issues through functional managers where applicable.
- Direct reporting into delivery managers to ensure robust management of issues.

Location Note
The role ideally will be carried out in Broughton; however there is a possibility it may be carried out from Filton if all competencies and abilities can be demonstrated.
