Contracts & Change Engineer Freelance (Outside IR35)
Description
We are seeking a Contracts & Change Engineer to support a major nuclear project (SZC), working closely with the Contract Manager and Commercial Manager. This role is ideal for a freelance professional with 2-3 years of experience who has an engineering background (mechanical preferred) and a strong understanding of contract change management in large infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Change Management:
- Support the implementation of project changes, assessing their impacts on costs, timelines, and compliance.
Change Control & Documentation:
- Assist in preparing and managing compensation events, variations, and contract changes, ensuring compliance with NEC contract requirements.
Client Submissions:
- Coordinate and submit change requests and variations, working closely with project teams and stakeholders.
Financial & Cost Tracking:
- Monitor budgets, track contract changes, and provide reporting on cost impacts.
Power BI & Data Reporting:
- Use Power BI to analyse and visualize key contract and project data.
NEC Contract Compliance:
- Work within the framework of NEC contracts, ensuring all changes align with contract obligations.
Requirements
Experience:
- 2-3 years in contract change management, contract engineering, or project management.
Background:
- Engineering degree (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience.
Industry Knowledge:
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects (nuclear, energy, rail, or similar).
