We're Hiring: Network Engineer – Specialist in Cisco & SD-WAN

Contract: 12 Months
Location: Glasgow/Edinburgh

We are looking for a Network Engineer with strong expertise in Cisco switching and routing, as well as a passion for delivering results in an evolving network landscape. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in deploying and managing network solutions, with a CCNA certification at minimum. Key Responsibilities:
- SD-WAN Deployment & LAN Upgrades: Lead the deployment of SD-WAN solutions across 50+ sites and help upgrade network hardware/software in estates across Scotland.
- Consultation & Strategy: Provide consultation on network designs and strategies for managing multi-site networks, including SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, and LAN.
- Policy & Governance: Ensure adherence to policies, standards, and procedures while maintaining high levels of network quality assurance.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and project managers to drive improvements in service provision; attend meetings; contribute to change management discussions.
- Service Development: Stay ahead of market trends; consult on best practices; continuously improve network systems and processes.

What You’ll Need:
- Cisco Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with Cisco equipment (2960X/XR, 4500, 9000 series, Nexus switches), ideally with a recognized network certification.
- Advanced Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to troubleshoot physical network infrastructure and manage high availability networks.
- Broad Technical Knowledge: Experience with Cisco Networking; Unified Communications; F5 VPN; Palo Alto Firewalls; load balancing services.
- Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel across Scotland (including weekends and nights) for SD-WAN deployments and LAN upgrades.

Nice to Have:
- Experience with Palo Alto; F5; Windows/Linux; Wi-Fi systems; Data Centre management.
- Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
