The Opportunity
To work as a Lead Shopify Developer on an exciting fast paced account for our client who is a global leader in the health and hygiene market supporting other developers within the account whilst taking ownership in key tech decisions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Creating high quality production-ready front-end code with Shopify
- Creating reusable Shopify components and theme areas
- Architectural decisions to be agreed with Front-end Architect then implemented and maintained on the project to ensure consistency and quality
- Drive forward the quality - in code unit testing accessibility performance code reviews
- Engaging with the client to understand new requirements or issues being able to clearly present potential solutions
- Ensure smooth connection with Marketing Tools Platform APIs Shopify Apps to optimise shop for overall efficiency functionality
- Lead an Agile workstream of front-end developers on project contributing to daily stand-ups sprint planning estimates
- Ability to converse confidently with technical non-technical colleagues
- Build modular layouts reusable code libraries for future use
- Comfortable with mix of Team Lead responsibilities effective management workload mentoring junior members team
- Work with design teams create optimal front-end user experiences leading driving greater conversions
- Collaborating technical non-technical colleagues escalate issues highlight any areas need wider team action
- Cooperate design marketing teams gather refine specifications requirements development
- Be involved existing new integrations platform
- Full end-to-end ownership from idea delivery covering ongoing maintenance expansion scaling
- Stay current evolving standards technologies learning new skills needed
- Support recruitment process technical tests team fit assessments
What We Want From You
- Solid understanding Agile methodology i.e Story point estimation refinement sprint planning retrospective sprint demos
- Mastery semantic HTML5 CSS3 (SASS LESS) JavaScript (ES6+) adhering industry defined coding standards
- Extensive experience Shopify platform Liquid templating engine
- Desire write readable maintainable modular extendable code
- Expert all aspects Shopify ECommerce platform
- Experience pair programming
- Extensive testing debugging abilities using browser console tools
- Knowledge current trends best practices front-end architecture including performance optimization accessibility SEO security usability
- Experience linter/formatter tooling eg ESlint/Prettier etc
- Commercial experience GIT large development team performing Continuous Integration
- Excellent communication skills capability interact directly team stakeholders
Proficient understanding fluid responsive layouts cross-browser cross-device compatibility issues
Commercial experience unit testing/End end testing/regression testing (we use Jest Cypress)
Previous experience implementing/debugging third-party Shopify apps building unique solutions needed
Familiarity modern front-end build pipelines tools such Grunt webpack
Working knowledge third-party services APIs well as Shopify plugins
Willingness contribute both large complex projects smaller tasks directed
Experience mentoring junior members team
Great attitude self-motivated strong work ethic strong ownership
Experience solving bespoke customer issues within Shopify platform
If You Know Some Of This Even Better
Commercial experience building headless solutions e.g SPA PWA applications
Experience building rapid prototypes
Experience Type Checking language either Flow TypeScript (we use TypeScript)
Experience creating site architecture diagrams wireframes process flows
Experience working Java/Node/C#/PHP projects would beneficial
