Reports to (Job Title): Engineering Manager / Senior Engineer
We need to provide Inventor CAD software licence along with the Mechanical Design engineers. Aerospace domain experience mandatory.
Job family, track and Level: Engineering and Technical, Specialist and Level 3
Purpose of the position
To undertake specific design tasks to achieve engineering outputs to programme schedule, cost and specification, for both project and bids in accordance with the contract requirements, statements of work and Engineering Department procedures.

Level Summary
Roles at this level apply their technical expertise when carrying out a range of project activities to support the development and implementation of engineering/technical solutions. Roles at this level are expected to deliver work to defined standards of quality, accuracy and timeliness, supporting the team to develop and deliver required outputs. Roles may be either individual contributors, acting as lead technicians or engineers, or they may act as supervisors with limited line management responsibility for technicians and/or apprentices.
Engineering/Technical Service Delivery
Complete complex engineering/technical tasks in a timely and efficient manner to provide a quality service for internal and external customers.
Product/Service/Solution development
Analyse allocated design/improvement problems and develop solutions in order to meet customer requirements and contribute to the creation of intellectual property.
Technical / People Management
Supervise and/or manage staff through the allocation of work, coordination of day-to-day activities, and provision of guidance to enable smooth delivery of services/tasks. Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues within own engineering discipline/technical area, sharing knowledge and experience to contribute to their technical capabilities.
Project Management
Provide support to projects utilising own technical knowledge ensuring Client projects have the engineering/technical inputs they require. Act as a lead delivery resource on project work streams related to area of specialism ensuring that the project is delivered on time, cost-effective while meeting quality standards.
Analysis and Design
Analyse data using a range of tools & techniques contributing towards team's development of engineering/technical solutions.
Research
Carry out research; gather data; perform analysis & calculations supporting advancements in engineering/technical solutions.
Customer Service
Provide clear feedback on customer enquiries; monitor specific issue handling & resolution.
Financial Resource Management
Review team expenditure; provide updates on performance against plan enabling accurate forecasting & appropriate control.
Risk Management Compliance
Complete engineering/technical activities compliant with internal processes/procedures ensuring compliance. Oversee application by team ensuring adherence with internal processes/procedures.
Policies Processes Systems
Monitor systems/processes/practices within area identifying opportunities for improvement based on changing needs or current best practices thinking. Act as champion for practices/procedures helping embed them into everyday activity.
Health Safety
Maintain awareness regarding health/safety responsibilities providing adequate information/instruction/training ensuring capability among those under control meeting required health/safety standards. Complying with health/safety policy/local practices/control measures reporting risks accidents/nearmisses promptly contributing towards safe workplace.
Continuous Improvement
Consistently measure effects from activity feeding into standard process/methods development impacting KPIs.

- Collaborate across Engineering Functions including Electrical manufacturing

- Demonstrate flair novel solution designs problems using latest technologies inputting reducing project/product cost time market
- Work effectively across matrix delivering bottom-line performance collaboratively

Tasks: A piece work done responsibility role:
- Carry drawing modifications amendments when required
- Work colleagues assisting potential quality issues production
- Hold DFMA’s manufacturing production experience designing cost manufacture assembly knowledge drawing systems product Structures
- Control product build standard drawing document configuration control
- Assist purchasing technical queries release advance purchase requisitions
- Resolve design queries Inspection reports including technical solutions warranty issues
