JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for an experience Head of Finance to partner with the Interim Loyalty Director and other key stakeholders across Finance, Marketing, Commercial, and Technology departments to develop a comprehensive financial model for a proposed Loyalty programme. This model will support a well-informed decision on whether to proceed with the initiative, focusing on key aspects such as incremental revenue, profitability, and customer lifetime value comparisons between members and non-members.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Partnering:
- Collaborate closely with the Interim Loyalty Director, providing expert financial analysis and modelling support for the Loyalty business case and strategy.
- Own the development of a robust financial model to assess the economics of the Loyalty programme, ensuring an informed βgo/no-goβ decision.
- Key strategic objectives include:
- Incremental revenue contribution
- Loyalty programme profitability
- Member CLV vs. Non-member CLV
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work alongside teams in Finance, Marketing, Commercial, and Technology to support and challenge business owners in building the Loyalty business case:
- Technology β Assess the potential to integrate Loyalty financial and currency management with existing ERP and accounting systems.
- Marketing β Align promotional, redemption, and currency modelling with overall customer objectives and brand principles.
- Commercial β Partner with Commercial & Proposition teams to connect the strategic direction of Loyalty with the financial principles underpinning the programme.
- Finance β Develop a cohesive plan to integrate the Loyalty programme into broader financial reporting and operational frameworks.
Partnership Collaboration:
- Support financial modelling for potential co-branded credit cards and partnerships with financial institutions as part of business case development.
Leadership:
- Engage with colleagues across the finance function to secure support and resources for the Loyalty project as needed.
Financial Reporting:
- Present regular financial modelling updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Currency Strategy:
- Design the proposed loyalty currency, including earning and redemption rates while ensuring financial sustainability.
KEY EXPERIENCE
- Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience.
- Proven industry experience managing loyalty currency, preferably in airline or travel industry.
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to build/manage sophisticated financial models for loyalty currency or tokens.
- Experience working with technology teams implementing systems for tracking loyalty program liabilities/currency.
- Knowledge of integrating loyalty schemes within broader group financial reporting.
- Ability to simplify complex models/communicate insights effectively across diverse audiences including senior stakeholders.
- Experience operating in ambiguous βstart-upβ environments preferred; especially when combined with larger corporate settings.
