The Role & Team
Senior Infrastructure Engineer working in a small team providing operational support activities and ongoing strategic and tactical engineering for underlying core infrastructure across all global RBC BlueBay locations including environments management & automation, storage, compute, virtualisation, networks, security, databases and cloud deployments (M365, Entra ID, SQL MI etc).
Your efforts will be vital in maintaining optimal system performance and achieving high levels of user satisfaction across RBC BlueBay.
What are the typical responsibilities?
Own, manage, and resolve 3rd line incidents and requests reported to the RBC BlueBay Service Desk.
A key escalation point within the department, exceptional ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across all platforms including VMWare, NetApp, Cisco network devices, Firewalls, and SQL/Oracle databases.
Leading the ongoing enhancement of security controls across all IT environments to meet, and often exceed, RBC BlueBay security standards.
Autonomous workload management and prioritisation.
Key accountability and planning for the delivery of key projects and initiatives.
Ongoing identification of opportunities to improve our technology & processes.
Hybrid working, 3 days onsite
What experience would make a successful candidate?
Previous experience (min 10 years) in a 3rd line technology support role including two or more of -
? Windows Server support
? VMWare
? NetApp
? Networking support
? Azure and/or SQL Server database administration
Exhibit a strong sense of responsibility and accountability for the solutions the team support.
Technical troubleshooting - Demonstrate a logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting complex issues.
Experience of security hardening in chosen field of technical specialisation.
