We have exciting opportunities for PRINCIPAL EC&I AND SENIOR EC&I ENGINEERS who can be based at our clients premises in either Warrington, Cheshire or West Cumbria.
About the Roles:
The Senior Engineers manage the delivery of engineering and technical activities, through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience. At this level experienced engineers with a high level of developed knowledge in a specialist subject area, resolve specific technical issues and problems, compile technical reports and accompanying presentations, provide, review and adhere to specifications in accordance with stakeholder requirements. Coach, mentor and assist others on matters pertaining to their own discipline, developing business awareness, building strong working relationships with stakeholders, working independently with limited technical direction or as part of a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
This is the level for an experienced engineer working with a high level of developed knowledge in a specialist subject area; the role is directly accountable for designs, developments and determines solutions to problems and issues within a specialist subject area.
- Able to work on a range of engineering problems involving high levels of complexity & uncertainty.
- Providing help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working and their development.
- The successful candidates must be fully aware of and adhere to Health & Safety standards and be fully familiar with all authorised documentation, Good Practice Guides and ISO standards.
- Promoting effective co-operation across Engineering and other functional teams.
- Assisting in effective management of the customer including liaison and relationship development with existing new customers to aid the development of business resolution of technical delivery issues such that the customer is fully briefed informed progress.
- Ensuring procedures codes standards are correctly identified applied engineering technical activities.
- Contributing to Project Safety Assessment process.
- Ensuring task project risks are communicated managed appropriately.
- Producing reviewing approving calculations analyses drawings models design basis documentation technical reports as assigned.
- Assessing implications changes concessions queries.
- Maintaining engineering configuration ensuring overall design intent integrity maintained throughout design lifecycle.
- Evaluating technical issues order develop proposals investigations/or solutions including process improvements.
- Provide support Project Manager planning control delivery tasks projects.
- Making engineering decisions within own sphere responsibility delegated authority.
- Acting Technical Authority Engineering Lead when authorised do so.
- Ensuring application highest standards health safety immediate area responsibility ensure all team members across engineering co-operate respect company standards matters health safety environment ethics behaviours.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant engineering discipline with significant demonstrable experience.
Chartered Engineer status (or actively working toward Chartered Status).
Experience in working collaboratively multi-discipline teams deliver activities range project types.
Demonstrable experience covering variety tasks across range complexities.
Good communications skills ability interface other disciplines.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
Member relevant institute significant demonstrable engineering experience capable registration Engineering Council.
Experience managing engineering scope Projects concept design full Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC).
Breadth depth experience range commercial defence projects.
Minimum Level Qualifications Verified:
Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) relevant engineering discipline significant demonstrable experience.
Senior CE&I Engineer: Required deliver work packages various system scope across all 3 off SEP Machines wide variety Control Electrical Instrumentation problem solving scenarios.
Essential:
Preferred CEng/IEng status equivalent experience
Experienced delivering fit purpose CE&I design solutions cost schedule
Ability break down problem/issue constituent parts present options resolution
Ability contribute production deliver report plans work
Ability communicate verbally writing variety stakeholders
Working knowledge understanding regulations relevant delivery CE&I Equipment (CDM PUWER Machinery Safety BS13849/62061 BS7671 Industrial installation methods UKCA/CE etc.)
Familiarity engineering drawings including checking standards relevant production
Ability review understand challenge conventional electrical power calculations accordance BS 7671
Desirable:
Ability evidence applying engineering judgement make evidence risk-based decisions
Experience creating design specifications supporting panel build installation queries/issues
Experience production Design risk assessments Installation method statements EO packs supporting Quality Requirements O&M documents
Experience production Technical Files accompanying deliverables familiar EHSRs
Experience Functional Safety IEC 61508 production checking design substantiation Safety Case deliverables
Experience PLC/SCADA control systems network architecture
