Role Description
Our Water Design and Engineering team is involved in some of the UK's most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. We have an excellent reputation in the delivery of such schemes and are working closely with some of the UK's most established and recognizable companies, undertaking a vast array of projects to enhance the UK's water infrastructure and environment.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will join our MEICA team to contribute and apply your skills on a variety of water and wastewater projects for our clients regionally and across the UK. Reporting to the Principal Engineer or Associate Technical Director, you will be responsible for specifying and designing mechanical process plant on projects that promise to meet or exceed client expectations. You will represent Arcadis with direct stakeholder engagement, contributing towards the achievement of our business objectives and building networks within the industry.

Role Accountabilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaborate effectively as a team member in the production and peer checking of mechanical design deliverables.
- Supporting design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater conveyance & treatment assets.
- Ensuring safety of yourself & others through design collaboration & actions.
- Technical delivery within a multi-disciplinary team environment in a mechanical design capacity using latest digital design processes & resources.
- Develop innovative & optimized technical solutions based on client needs & drivers.
- Co-ordinate work within multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical & ICA).
- Establish & grow relationships with clients & capital alliance partners on project technical commercial progress matters.
- Ensuring projects meet required technical legislative quality safety environmental standards objectives.
- Capturing key project technical knowledge including innovations.
- Internally promote share project achievements developments.

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other directly related degree
- Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status membership of relevant professional institution (e.g., IMechE IET CIWEM)
- At least 2 years experience track record in technical delivery process plant systems on complex engineering projects preferably related water wastewater industry
- Experience working on design projects using digital design platforms
- Collaborative behaviours
