Role Overview
The Senior Commercial Counsel, EMEA will report to the Associate General Counsel, Commercial and will own the execution of day-to-day GTM sales and commercial legal process activity in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). You will work closely to advise and empower the talented people of Abnormal Security from Sales, Finance, Operations, Security, and other teams as they transact business and bring revenue through the door. The Senior Commercial Counsel will provide pragmatic and business-minded legal support to stakeholders at all levels of the company while contributing to the planning and implementation of operational processes, platforms, and tools to scale. In addition, you will be an important contributing member of the amazing legal team weโ€™re building.

What Youโ€™ll Do
In this role you will be primarily responsible for execution of revenue-focused commercial legal activities focused on EMEA. Your ability in these areas will drive your success:
- Execute commercial legal processes including intake resourcing while meeting or exceeding internal SLOs/KPIs.
- Advise on negotiate close contracts including software licensing agreements data protection agreements (GDPR CCPA) NDAs professional services partner agreements ensuring alignment with Legal Playbook.
- Collaborate with financial teams regarding contracting guidelines policies escalations/exceptions process ensuring deal structures support booking revenue recognition targets.
- Regularly update commercial legal playbooks working with stakeholders for delegation building out additional portions requiring less input into transactions.
- Contribute development deployment training materials for GTM team creating training modules targeted at Sales onboarding self-service materials rotating quarterly presentations on specific topics designed for contracting efficiency improvement.
- Manage deal flow relationships across functions efficiently using managing resources load balancing effectively assisting contract risk audit monitoring strategy keeping abreast key risks clauses attributes implementing mitigation monitoring programs collaboratively designing maintaining workflows capturing approvals metadata supporting policies KPI reporting staying current with technology tools professional development.

Experience And Qualifications Youโ€™ll Need
Must be located within UK Ireland region 10+ years combined law firm in-house experience qualified lawyer EU jurisdiction UK substantial experience negotiating B2B SaaS software license vendor supplier reseller agreements technology companies proven success resolving complex issues considering nonlegal variables culture brand communications government relations tax finance other functional areas familiarity working globally supporting multiple time zones cultures prior experience partnering GTM facing adjacent teams committed strategic differentiation high quality execution desirable start-up atmosphere proficiency Google Docs Gmail Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat Pro DocuSign Salesforce CLM Legal Ops tools Slack privacy cybersecurity experience interest plus.
