Scope of Services
We require the services of a Decommissioning Project Engineer (Outside of IR35) to provide independent contract services to support the multi-discipline delivery of decommissioning projects (typically at conceptual / pre-FEED project stages). The scope of services requires providing broad technical inputs and project engineering on a range of decommissioning projects, from traditional upstream oil and gas to emerging energy transition developments.

Responsibilities include:
- Applied Comparative Assessment (CA) experience (management/delivery/development)
- Collaborating with a highly skilled and experienced decommissioning team
- Working with a wide range of clients on varied projects
- Defining new developments decommissioning philosophies during concept selection
- Technical/perimetry support for mature assets
- Production of Decommissioning Programmes
- Client support during execution in the UK and overseas
- Targeting value add contributions to support robust early-phase key project decision making

Genesis globally is managed within core services lines (Early Advisory Solutions, Development Solutions and Asset Lifecycle Solutions) and key markets (Low Carbon, CO2 Management & Renewables; Upstream & Downstream Oil & Gas). The Genesis UK Operating Centre (with offices in Aberdeen and London) is organised into 8 core delivery teams. In this role you would join the Project and Discipline Engineering Delivery Team.

This team currently comprises circa 50+ engineers, project engineers, study managers managed in six core delivery groups comprising:
1. Project Engineering / Piping & Layouts
2. Mechanical
3. Construction / Electrical / Control
4. Instrumentation & Telecommunications
5. Structural
6. Civil

Requirements
The service provider is required to be/have:
- Degree Qualified in relevant engineering subject (MEng or BEng (Hons)/ MSc or BSc or relevant engineering/science degree qualification).
- Minimum 5 years decommissioning project engineering/relevant experience.
- Previous experience working as part of a multi-discipline team on decommissioning/projects.
- Manage multi-discipline teams in delivering decommissioning project studies with focus/detailed understanding of Comparative Assessments (CAs).
- Manage effective interfaces/relationships between disciplines.
- Review documentation including engineering/environmental/survey drawings supporting decommissioning studies as inputs to CAs.
- Participate in decommissioning workshops ENVID/HAZID reviews.
- Provision of technical compliance advice related to decommissioning engineering.
- Develop high-quality proposals/bid submissions.
- Detailed understanding CA Process/regulatory drivers; previous experience leading/managing CA scopes.
- Competence supporting development cost/schedule estimates.
- Knowledge legislation/engineering techniques/solutions/challenges related to decommissioning
- Excellent report-writing/review communication/client-handling/interpersonal skills; full command English language written/spoken
- Flexibility for ad-hoc travel both within UK abroad
