Description
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and assist in managing server hardware efficiently. The ideal candidate will help improve the time it takes to put new hardware into production and support the maintenance of existing hardware. This role will focus on automation to allow the team to concentrate on higher priority tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage server hardware at scale.
- Implement automation solutions using Shell scripting in Python and Ansible.
- Work with APIs to streamline processes.
- Administer Linux systems and manage networks.
- Handle physical and virtual server environments.
- Work in a data centre environment, managing thousands of servers.
- Utilise Dell and Lenovo server management tools like Dell OpenManage and Lenovo X Clarity.
Essential Skills:
- Experience with hardware management at scale.
- Proficiency in Shell scripting using Python.
- Knowledge of Ansible (Red Hats Automation Platform).
- Understanding of APIs.
- Strong Linux administration skills.
- Networking knowledge.
- Experience with both physical and virtual servers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Background in data centre operations.
- Experience working with Dell and Lenovo server products.
- Familiarity with network protocols.
- Systems engineering and integration experience.
- Knowledge of VMware.
