About Midnight
IOG's Midnight Tribe is a business technology provider and core contributor to the Midnight Network, a blockchain platform for developing decentralized applications that safeguard personal and commercial data. The Midnight Network is the first blockchain to offer programmable data isolation by leveraging zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to enable selective disclosure of what information is visible on-chain and is designed to help developers implement necessary business policies such as meeting regulatory requirements. Compact, Midnight’s domain-specific language, is a strongly statically typed bounded smart contract language designed to be used in combination with TypeScript for writing smart contracts.
What The Role Involves
As Senior Product Manager for Programming Languages and Tooling at Midnight:
- You will be responsible for creating feature requirements to evolve the language
and developer tooling roadmaps.
- Grooming and prioritizing the backlog.
- Developing epics and user stories.
- Defining acceptance criteria for each.
- You will work closely with Product Design, Marketing,
and Developer Relations.
- Identify features into requirements for Language Architecture
and Engineering Squad as well as ecosystem partners.
- Balance business needs with technical requirements,
and recommend alternative technical approaches when needed.
- Identify user needs while working with cross-functional teams
to deliver product releases.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Designers,
Developer Relations Engineers,
Language Architects,
Engineers,
and customers
to provide input into product roadmap
and drive execution of products/features from concept
to launch in a fast-paced environment.
- Translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features,
epics,
user stories,
and acceptance criteria.
- Lead functional design process based on an intimate knowledge of users/technology.
- Prioritize/maintain sprint backlog balancing stakeholder requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams/stakeholders including analytics/design/user experience/engineering/testing/developer relations.
- Turn data insights into products with actionable outcomes
for target personas.
- Work in an Agile environment continuously reviewing business needs/refining priorities/outlining milestones/deliverables/identifying opportunities/risks.
- Partner with operations departments defining user experience
for internal users including production support & monitoring.
- Collaborate on go-to-market plans ensuring commercial team success post-launch through tracking/reporting product performance evaluating future investment opportunities.
Requirements
Who you are:
-Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science,
Engineering or equivalent experience.
-Demonstrable proficiency in 3+ programming languages ideally spanning several programming idioms (procedural,functional,Object-oriented).
-Demonstrable experience ZK proving systems capabilities & limitations.
7+ years’ experience as Product Manager or similar role in programming languages/developer tooling/blockchain/web3/SaaS companies.
Technical background knowledge software development/domain expertise Agile/Jira/Github proficient methodologies leading technical/design/business teams hands-on managing all stages product life cycle from ideation rollout effective stakeholder management relationship-building skills team spirit good communication abilities good organizational skills project management context product development track record implementing metrics measuring success strong collaboration software development marketing teams certification (CPM,AIPMM) plus balance technical knowledge/business acumen strong leadership resourceful initiative exercising personal accountability demonstrate competency elicitation analysis specification verification management practices apply them practice leverage interpersonal skills drive innovation world-class engineers scientists excellent communication engage influence inspire partners stakeholders drive collaboration alignment across levels roles deep understanding programming languages like TypeScript deep understanding blockchain cryptocurrency technology keeping abreast industry developments trends status competitors technical/business perspective.
