Overview
Anderselite are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the construction of a 200+ bed student accommodation development in Birmingham City Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high-profile project, delivering high-quality, purpose-built student housing in a prime location. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of construction, ensuring work is completed to programme, quality, and safety standards
- Enforce health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and ensuring all RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) are adhered to
- Monitor project progress against the construction programme, identifying and mitigating any potential delays
- Manage subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring efficient scheduling of works
- Ensure the highest standards of workmanship are achieved, conducting regular quality checks
- Maintain strong communication with project managers, design teams, and client representatives
- Provide regular progress reports, manage site records, and attend project meetings
- Oversee material deliveries, site access, and coordination with the local authority where necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale residential, student accommodation or high-rise projects
- Strong understanding of construction processes building regulations health & safety legislation Experience managing RC Frame traditional build projects Ability coordinate multiple trades subcontractors efficiently SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) - Black/Gold Card First Aid at Work qualification Excellent leadership communication problem-solving skills
