Role Overview

The Pressure Compliance Lead BOP Manufacturer will report to the MEH Pressure Compliance Team Leader and will take responsibility for managing the pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements on the BOP scope, ensuring appropriate implementation and compliance to meet HPC project needs.

The role will require good technical and organisational capabilities to effectively interface with Project Managers and relevant stakeholders in the programme, the ONR, third party organisations and support the supply chain in delivery.

Their team and role will act as the single point of contact for pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements - through all phases of the project and for the various project policies, for their allocated scope.

The role will require frequent trips abroad (mostly mainland Europe).

Key Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities (Outputs of the Job - Activities & Decisions)

- Support the development and maintenance of the pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements for their appointed work scope.
- Ensure that project policies, processes and contracts are implemented and delivered to the right quality to manage pressure systems regulation and structural integrity safety case requirements.
- Responsible for arbitration and technical decisions on HPC's behalf in regards to pressure systems regulation and structural integrity compliance for their programme.
- Manage on behalf of the Programme Pressure Compliance Team Leader the pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements.
- Maintain personnel SQEP status to support nuclear baseline requirements.
- Organise delivery of technical files by different stakeholders in line with Pressure Regulations.
- Coordinate surveillance by appointed Third Party.
- Keep track of open points; expedite resolution as necessary.
- Prepare declaration of conformity in line with Pressure Regulations.

Dimensions

- Ensuring delivery by third parties on behalf of project.
- Develop strong working relationships within HPC, regulators, supply chain.
- Advise projects/programmes on technical requirements; act as decision maker regarding pressure systems compliance; escalate through Pressure Compliance Organisation when necessary.
- Engage daily with senior/project managers ensuring balance between key pressures/compliance needs vs. project delivery constraints.
- Support other parts of project from time-to-time as requested by line management based on experience.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

- Managing structural integrity/pressure regulation compliance within nuclear industry; compiling documentation; managing Third Party; preparing Declaration of Conformity.
- Mechanical engineering design/operation experience specifically related to RCC-M or ASME codes.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary/matrix environments.
- Experience coaching regulators/supply chain companies through pressure compliance process.

Preferred:

- Knowledge about nuclear industry/EDF group would be a plus.
- Familiarity with UK regulatory plant-related requirements would be advantageous.
- Ability focused on meeting project's demands while demonstrating a 'can-do' attitude independently or collaboratively achieving team goals is essential.
- Strong stakeholder interaction/influence skills within matrix organization required along with effective communication via appropriate media channels is vital too .
- Awareness regarding technical limitations alongside involving others when needed is crucial .

Education:

* Degree qualified in related Engineering or Science discipline .
* Chartered Member status from relevant professional institution preferred (IMeche) , or capable being chartered .

Experience

* Relevant large scale projects/assets management experience within highly regulated sectors such Power Generation , Nuclear Industry , Oil & Gas / Petro-Chemical .
* Relevant engineering experiences associated manufacturing/installing/conformity assessing around pressures system topics .
* Multi-cultural industrial projects exposure beneficial .
