Organization Overview:
The Diocese of Manchester is the Church of England in Bolton, Bury, Leigh, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, and parts of Rossendale, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Principal Building Surveyor to join our Land and Property Services team. The successful candidate will assist the Director with co-ordinating and managing the work of the Property Team in connection with the properties owned or administered by the Manchester Diocesan Board of Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the workload of the Property Team which comprises:
- Senior Surveyor
- Diocesan Buildings Officer
- Apprentice Building Surveyor
- Property Support Administrator
- Undertake property surveys.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse community including clergy, lay members and public organisations.
- Manage a property portfolio with an understanding of legal frameworks including Health & Safety and statutory regulations.
Qualifications:
- RICS chartered.
- Willingness to learn various Church Measures (laws).
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Additional Information:
Although experience working within the Church of England is not required, candidates should be sympathetic to its aims and values. The role is based at St Johns House.
