Position Overview
Hutch is looking for an experienced UI Artist to join the team in London on a 6 month contract to deliver visually impressive free-to-play gaming experiences. We really value our players and you will be a key part of defining how they interact with our games. You will have a strong understanding of UI Art and UX Design and have an ability to create sleek, clean, performant and stylish user interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Art Director and UI team to help define and implement appropriate UI art style
- Create high quality UI artwork and associated source assets that match the high-quality visual style of our games
- Collaborate with Designers and Product Owner for excellent UI & UX design preparation
- Work with client engineers for well-functioning bug-free UI implementation within Unity
- Design elegant UX layouts alongside design team including wireframes/user flow
- Attend regular design meetings/team presentations
- Contribute effectively towards planning/scheduling including costing/estimating
Requirements
- Proven UI Art experience within gaming or similar industry; portfolio required
- Strong logo/iconography design skills
- Experience through all stages of design workflow from paper level through wireframes/prototypes
- Practical understanding of UX/communication design conventions affecting player behavior; awareness of trends
- Excellent visual design skills (proportion/layout/graphical form/typography/color/composition/negative space)
- Good sense of color/composition; understand aesthetics
- Technical proficiency: Photoshop/Illustrator/Unity/Figma
- Interest in working on mobile games
- Desire for significant impact within small empowered team
- Experience working with existing IPs/external branding guidelines
Bonus Points
- Experience in VFX/2D animation/motion graphics
- Familiarity with 3D art software (3DS Max/Maya/Blender/Substance Painter/Zbrush)
- Knowledge of UX prototyping software (Adobe XD or Flinto)
