- Location: Hybrid - Central London
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver network projects, from planning to optimization, ensuring SLA thresholds are met.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex network issues and provide technical mentorship to junior team members.
- Design, maintain, and optimize the network, enhancing performance, security, and reliability.
- Document network designs, troubleshooting procedures, and migration strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to complete projects and perform out-of-hours work as required.
Requirements:
- Cisco core network experience, preferably in Altnet broadband.
- Expertise in Cisco ASR, NCS devices, and Firepower models.
- Experience with PON infrastructure.
- Comprehensive knowledge of key technologies: BGP, OSPF/ISIS, IPv6, MPLS, and VPNs.
- Proven experience with network monitoring tools, project delivery, and technical documentation.
- CCIE certification is desirable.
Role Overview:
This role combines individual contributions, team leadership, and collaboration with key stakeholders. The Principal Network Engineer will lead the design, maintenance, and expansion of a carrier-grade network, reporting to the Network Manager. The role requires a technical expert capable of resolving complex faults and managing end-to-end project delivery.
