Company Overview:
nexos are looking for an experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our team on a contract basis for 18 months.

Role Overview:
Youโ€™ll be ensuring technical quality and project delivery remain within budget and schedule. This role will be accountable for executing plant layout and piping engineering activities while providing technical leadership and discipline-specific input into tenders and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing and improving working practices, systems, and team efficiency.
- Supervising and allocating workloads to assigned personnel.
- Ensuring compliance with project budgets and schedules.
- Involved in project planning, progress tracking, cost control, and managing scope changes in collaboration with Planning, Project Engineering, and Project Control teams.
- Maintaining alignment with current industry standards, regulations, and codes.
- Liaising with customer focal points and attending key project meetings.

Technical Expertise:
This position requires expertise in reviewing, checking, and approving plant layout and piping engineering work while maintaining effective communication with clients, project management, and interdisciplinary teams.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Estimating, scheduling, and submitting approvals via our digital ecosystem (Slingshot).
- Conducting competency assessments.
- Supporting the professional development of piping engineering personnel.
- Acting as a discipline focal point when required.

Collaboration:
You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and Lead Engineer to address any concerns while driving continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:
- Demonstrable experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- UK bachelorโ€™s degree (or equivalent) in appropriate engineering subject (piping/mechanical).
- Chartered Engineer status; member of appropriate engineering Institute.
- Sound technical background; expertise.
- Experienced in selection/use of applicable codes/practices/standards/statutory documentation.
- Competent in direction/organisation of discipline team within project environment (Small/Medium Sized).
- Competent in commercial/contractual/administrative aspects of Engineering.
- Experienced in aspects of discipline design (including multi-discipline) using analytical methods including theoretic background.

Desirable:
- Mandatory offshore certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical etc.).
