Role Overview:
Overseeing the Sheffield highways project from start to finish as well as other civil projects across the area. Experience on highways/roads is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the Sheffield highways projects.
- Manage operational resources effectively, ensuring projects are completed to programme, budget and within required SHEQ standards.
- Deliver time, cost and quality performance in accordance with targets, process and procedures.
- Liaise with clients and internal management to ensure compliance with Standards, Policy & Procedures and Industry Regulations and Legislation.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes are achieved in the planning and delivery of project work.
- Maintain close liaison and continuous communication with other managers within the business for efficient operations.
- Build effective relationships with senior members of the supply chain and client teams.
- Adopt a proactive approach to identify best practice, implement improvements, gather feedback knowledge on "what good looks like".
- Ensure Construction Phase Plans, method statements and safe systems of work are in place before work starts; maintain required safety standards at all times.
- Ensure subcontractor site personnel are competent and fully trained for their tasks.
- Engage fully with commercial teams; take responsibility for commercial performance of projects.
- Keep accurate records including site diary, records of work activities, resource allocations and as-built information.
- Lead project team in developing construction programmes, phasing plans and method statements.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations; adhere to Client H&S Plans; develop Construction Phase H&S Plans; compile Project Specific Risk Assessments (RAMS); deliver Site Safety Toolbox Talks; complete regular Site Safety Inspections/Audits.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Civil Engineering or related qualifications.
- SMSTS & CSCS certification.
- Experience managing client priorities along with communication skills.
- Evidence managing health & safety through construction phases in highway/rail environments.
- Knowledge/experience partnering focused on strong delivery outcomes.
- Demonstrable experience successfully managing Civil Engineering/Rail/Infrastructure schemes.
