Contract Duration: 3 - 6 Month Rolling Contract
Location: Bristol + Andover (Hybrid)
Rate: £600-650/day (Outside IR35)
Security Clearance: Active SC Security Clearance required
Industry Experience: Defence/MOD domain
Start Date: ASAP in February/March 2025
Working Arrangement:
- Hybrid Working: 3-4 days/week remote (WFH) and 1-2 days/week travel to sites based in Bristol and Andover.
Role Overview:
- Opportunity to work with a leading digital transformation business on large-scale Defence/MOD projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing technical leadership across systems engineering disciplines being delivered by external suppliers.
- Leading the design, testing, and integration of programme solutions ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
- Acting as the primary technical interface between the supplier, internal Defence Digital teams, and key stakeholders.
- Owning the software factory roadmap and development requirements for current and future contracts.
Required Experience:
- In-depth experience of systems engineering leadership roles within complex Defence/MOD project environments.
- Experience of delivering large-scale Defence Digital technology solutions such as secure communications, mission-critical applications, data analytics.
- Experience of cloud architectures, on-premise solutions, cyber security, software development methods, system integration, and deployable technologies.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth experience of systems engineering practices including software development methodologies and hardware integration/testing methodologies.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Defining programme strategy, standards governance structures while ensuring integrated solutions are fit for purpose.
Familiarity with Standards/Frameworks:
- Familiar with defence standards/frameworks such as DEF STAN, MIL-STD, NATO.
