Main Duties And Responsibilities
Product Portfolio Manager
As the Product Portfolio Manager, you will lead the successful development, delivery, and evaluation of our product portfolio. This role involves strategic planning, strong stakeholder management, and hands-on product management to ensure successful delivery of the product portfolio / product lifecycle management.
1. Lead on an innovative and impactful product strategy:
- Develop and communicate a clear product portfolio vision and strategy aligned with market trends and customer needs.
- Lead and embed a suitable governance structure for the Product Portfolio.
2. Translate strategy into action:
- Responsible for developing / delivering on the Product Strategy by managing, monitoring and evaluating the portfolio of products to drive desired commercial and strategic outcomes.
3. Drive and manage the product lifecycle:
- Lead on all processes in the product lifecycle, including market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements, roadmap development, delivery, and product launch.
4. Ensure effective cross-functional collaboration:
- Establish and manage complex relationships with external customers, partners and senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with technical, marketing, scientific and commercial teams to ensure the quality and success of the product(s).
5. Contribute to product strategy:
- Lead on shaping the Product Strategy within the overall organisational strategy.
- Ensure consistent, objective investment decisions across the product portfolio.
This role coordinates activities across market-focused cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in strategy business planning investment decisions risk management outcomes-based measures. It manages processes for allocation of business resource linking go-to-market operational resources provides leadership with clarity on investment performance.
Example Responsibilities
- Implement processes to coordinate business plans investment decisions enabling management to make objective business decisions understand trade-offs monitor investment outcomes across portfolio (including invest/divest/hold decisions).
- Support cross-functional teams in writing business cases using common templates metrics.
- Co-ordinate business cases ensuring consistent evaluation across portfolio project prioritisation decision-making.
- Implement portfolio risk taxonomy (value usability feasibility viability) managing analysing risk across portfolio.
- Run scenario analysis supporting decision-making.
- Commission broad market competitor research synthesising outputs into recommendations long-term strategy.
- Support cross-functional teams providing standardised approaches measuring reporting product usage revenue profitability return on investment.
- Promote sharing ideas best practice groups enabling consistent delivery customer value development of business GTM licensing pricing models live by CCDC values be proactive engaged team member motivate others succeed.
Personal Skills And Abilities
You are passionate about leading developing products throughout their lifecycle. You have good knowledge experience working with products change project management methodologies such as Agile. You excel in interpersonal communication stakeholder management skills.
