Reporting To: CFC Operations Manager
Business Stream: Operations
Role Purpose
To deliver outstanding service to our customers in a safe, respectful, aspirational, productive, robust, contingent, and flexible working environment. To manage and optimise CFC flow through use of the CFC OSP pages and ensure people are deployed appropriately to deliver on productivity and quality targets and assume operational management responsibility (people and process). To perform the role of Operations Manager as and when required by the business and be responsible for a specified business unit within the CFC. We will provide a 12-18 months programme with the Operations Manager to learn flow management and Operations Management skills.
Key Customers
This role will interact with several key stakeholders, including Area Managers, Area Coordinators, Operations Managers, and Operations Support teams to ensure optimal operational flow. You will also collaborate with senior leadership, engineering, HR, the Excellence Team, Health and Safety, Food Tech, GMDC2, LGV, and Delivery Operations departments.
Roles & Responsibilities
Process
- Monitor operational flows using the OSP pages; identify profile challenges; deploy resource to minimise their impact on flow; collate information on occurrences/impact for subsequent review and investigation/resolution.
- Review activity data; challenge colleagues on their stewardship of resource/process to achieve planned levels of order fulfilment/throughput; optimal flow; timely despatch whilst ensuring efficiencies through managing productivity targets.
- Balance flow/fulfilment; understand stock issues/recirculation events to achieve optimal fulfilment levels/timely despatch minimising scratches.
- Prioritise resolution of issues; manage support teams; escalate issues where appropriate/evidence making considered decisions when invoking workaround processes.
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to by liaising between operation/support teams ensuring assets are available for servicing.
- Solicit ways in which flows can be improved; present supporting data evidencing case for development/expenditure/champion such projects through implementation.
- Provide comprehensive handovers to subsequent managers presenting operating highlights/risk/opportunities focusing on continually improving performance.
- Challenge/amend performance metrics delivering productivity expectancies/quality standards measuring process capability rather than production outcomes.
- Champion continuous improvement processes developing business cases for funding detailing implementation plans guiding your management team delivering initiatives.
- Assist Operations Managers developing Area Managers understanding of flow management ensuring teams work collectively.
- Ensure processes protect fulfilment managing putaway times/prevent pullouts/review rejection criteria/review process engaging with teams impacting fulfilment including scratches etc.
- Identify process improvements assisting one of our 5 pillars: customer/cost/people/health & safety/quality seeing projects through completion ensuring implementation across different shift rotations.
People
Recruitment
Conduct recruitment interviews completing selection process for Area Coordinator recruitment.
Communication
Liaise with Council/USDW WPR attending/chairing production/team meetings/listening or focus groups. Deliver pre-shift briefings informing team key business results/improvement initiatives/messages regarding health/safety. Communicate effectively controlling unexpected events ensuring requisite standards maintained.
Conduct workplace audits providing feedback Area Managers escalating relevant issues Senior Operational Managers. Conduct security searches/administer breathalyser testing as required adhering/manage Food Safety Procedures.
Assist Support Engagement Reward General HR initiatives providing counsel seeking feedback learning offering knowledge freely challenging others understanding processes end-to-end inspiring them do so.
