Our local government clients in Summerset are recruiting a Landlord and Compliance Specialist, a role that offers significant potential for personal and professional growth. The specialist will provide technical expertise on all landlord aspects of property compliance, including radon, water safety, asbestos, and other property safety-related matters. They will also ensure that ‘Best Practice’ is implemented in the service delivery and manage the service across numerous sites, ensuring resources are deployed effectively.

Responsibility:
Ensure that the responsibilities, including the ‘Duty of Care’ (which refers to the legal obligation to ensure the safety and well-being of others), follow current Legislation, Government Policy, Regulatory Requirements, approved Codes of Practice, and guidance and align with the Corporate Plan, Business Plans, and Service Plans. Failure to undertake statutory inspections could result in death, injury, structural damage, criminal proceedings, and reputational damage.

Essential Qualifications:
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Membership of relevant professionals e.g., IOSH or BOHS.
- Qualification in project management e.g., Prince2.
- CIH Certificate in Housing Management.
- Advanced – Microsoft Office: Word Excel Outlook social media CRM.

Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting:
- Detailed up-to-date knowledge about all landlord property-related safety statutory responsibilities Government Policy Regulatory Requirements approved Codes Of Practice guidance etcetera;
Sound working knowledge regarding Building Regulations;
Possesses management experience ideally within Local Governments;
High level understanding concerning issues faced by local governments along with related services areas problems etcetera;
Knowledge about medium term financial planning integration between service finance plans ;
Experience collaborating supporting partnerships involving various internal external bodies such as governmental non-governmental organizations private voluntary sectors among others ;
Significant experience managing properties' related compliances especially those associated with social housing environments spanning over thirty six months plus period time frame ;
Significant exposure dealing specifically residential housings stocks landlords' properties safeties aspects thereofs ;
Understanding practical experiences gained through hands-on involvement projects managements practices pertaining landlords' properties safeties matters ;
Relevant background having worked extensively around socially oriented housings sectors coupled deep insights into same field operations dynamics processes involved therein ;
Demonstrates strong managerial capabilities encompassing resource allocation personnel deployment adaptability responding flexibly changing circumstances situations arising unexpectedly during course duties execution phases respectively ;
