Company Overview:
CSS Recruitment and Training are looking for a Construction Manager (E&I) with experience in Power Generation, Oil & Gas or Pharmaceutical Industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe execution of projects and site/construction implementation.
- Ensure construction is carried out in compliance with safety, cost, schedule, QA, and QC standards.
- Manage pre-construction planning, procurement, and execution strategies.
- Plan and allocate manpower and resources.
- Drive construction and commissioning project strategies.
- Handle procurement, tender evaluation, subcontractor selection, and contract closeout.
- Ensure QA procedures and QC compliance during implementation.
- Track procurement, especially long lead items and bulk materials, to ensure timely delivery.
- Implement safety procedures and requirements fully.
Requirements:
• Electrical Trade background preferred
• Proven Construction management track with min 10 years’ experience in Power Generation, Oil & Gas or Pharmaceutical Industries
• Diverse managerial know-how in managing and coordination of multiple disciplines
• Good understanding of commercial issue and experience in handling contract disputes
• Critical human relations skills in understanding, selecting, training, developing and motivating people
• Strong Analytical problem-solving ability with adaptive and constructive thinking
• Safety Focus; experience in the enforcement of Safety Legislation; Corporate Safety Procedures; Requirements
• Manage the earlier procurement of the packages to fast track the progress
• Plan and establish the site setting up; respective enabling works
• Ensure works perform compliance to Spec; Project requirement
• Track; ensure that overall progress is on or ahead of schedule; cost
• Maintenance of daily record of all activities; labour & plant; any non-compliance of materials/workmanship
• Close field monitoring to ensure quality of works delivery
• Ensure ITP/document compilation compliance
• Review Method Statement of Works
• Manage respective sub-contractors/monitor progress/reporting
• Manage Walk-down/Punch-listing/Clearing/Closure
• Interface/close coordination with Client/EP team/other project team members
• Managing pre-commissioning/commissioning works which may include IQ/OQ
• Manage turnover/closure of contract
• Be a Good Leader—Independent—Proactive
• Good communicator (verbal/written)
• Calm professional manner but able to make firm/timely decisions
• Positive “can do” attitude/proactive to identify & resolve management problems
• Be prepared for full-time work/ease in Construction Management
• Be prepared for extended hours per site requirement
• Be a teamwork player/good interpersonal skills
