In this rapidly evolving world, Collins Aerospace is always looking for new ways to disrupt the status quo, go to market faster, and optimize customer experiences. We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Product Owners to help lead this mission. This specific role will be in our Airports Product Organization.
The Senior Manager of Product Owner is a key role in the product development team that will be focused on leading, coaching, and managing a team of Product Owners. The role will span across the Airports Product Organization ensuring that the product vision and roadmap is translated into the delivery of individual solution features that offer the greatest business value possible. Working closely with the Product Managers and Value Stream Leaders, this role will oversee a dynamic team of Product Owners that act as the bridge between end customers, business stakeholders and the technology teams.
The Senior Manager of Product Owner serves as a product ambassador internally and externally, driving growth and innovation. They will work closely with their team to research and understand customers' needs to determine which features to include in products while being well-versed on product goals. They collaborate effectively with the development team to help them prioritize activities and act as the voice of the customer.
In summary, this role is a critical link between many stakeholders to ensure that features built add value in an effective manner. The ideal candidate will have big ideas and strategies that foster collaboration within their team and broader product organization. We need someone who has an entrepreneurial mindset for distilling business value into roadmaps and refined product backlogs. Most importantly, we need a talented people-leader who can help us build better products that people love.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dynamic people-leader responsible for managing, leading, and coaching a team of Product Owners to drive innovation throughout end-to-end product lifecycle.
- Responsible for championing product vision/roadmap while leading large teams from ideation through successful execution.
- Work directly with customers using techniques such as workshops/interviews to understand desired outcomes.
- Manage performance by creating development plans aimed at upskilling direct reports while supporting personal/professional goals.
- Create consistent approaches across Airports Product Organization for breaking larger features into smaller value drops; prioritize backlog items based on business value; translate roadmap into well-defined requirements including features/user stories/acceptance criteria for developers.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies across Airports Organization; coach/mentor teams ensuring commitments are met.
- Support alignment among technical/business stakeholders identifying areas for process optimization.

Key Requirements:
MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or similar field
- Minimum 5 years experience as Product Owner
- Proven track record managing dynamic teams (5+ direct reports)
- Experience working with hardware/software component products
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Understanding business values related feature sets
- Outstanding communication/presentation skills fostering cross-functional collaboration
- Sharp analytical/problem-solving abilities
- Capability managing conflicting stakeholder needs

- Certification (Product Owner/Manager)
- Experience working within Airport/Aerospace sectors
- Familiarity passenger processing/self-service airport products
- Proven history launching new products
