About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Platform Architect to lead the migration of their Legacy on-premise infrastructure to the cloud, ideally AWS. The successful candidate will play a key role in redesigning the company's wallet platform, ensuring scalability, security, and performance in a cloud-native environment. In addition to the architectural transformation, the role involves mentoring and training an internal development team transitioning from .NET/C++ to Java. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a critical transformation project and influence the long-term technology strategy of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the migration from on-prem to AWS, ensuring best practices for scalability, security, and resilience.
- Redesign the existing wallet platform for optimal performance in a cloud-native environment.
- Provide architectural guidance and hands-on support throughout the transition process.
- Mentor and train an internal development team moving from .NET/C++ to Java.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including engineering, product, and security teams, to define and execute the migration strategy.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and security best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any architectural challenges during the migration process.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Platform Architect or similar role in cloud migration projects.
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture and services (eg, EC2, RDS, Lambda, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Extensive experience with Legacy-to-cloud transformations.
- Knowledge of wallet/payment platforms is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in .NET/C++ and Java , with the ability to support a development team transition.
- Strong mentoring and leadership skills to upskill internal teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Understanding of DevOps practices , CI/CD pipelines ,and infrastructure as code (IaC).
