Company Overview
NES Fircroft are partnering with our major Engineering & Services client to provide Electrical Engineers at all levels for long-term projects based out of their Warrington office. Hybrid working available. 3-year project! Mon-Fri minimum 37.5hrs per week.

Role
Senior Engineer on a Sellafield Project providing technical expertise, delegating where required, and potentially responsible for delivering a key segment of the project.

Key Responsibilities
ā€¢ Technically responsible for all Electrical Engineering work assigned. Subject to project size, will delegate some level of supervision and specific checking activities to appropriate competent personnel.
ā€¢ Capable of formulating resolutions and supervision of technically challenging and/or high-profile issues, with support from Consultant Engineer / Lead Engineer or Project Engineering Manager, and effectively communicating with Clients and Senior Management.
ā€¢ Reviews, and checks the Electrical activities including: Philosophies, Specifications, Schedules, Drawings & Diagrams, Datasheets and Technical Requisitions for long lead items.
ā€¢ Identifies and resolves discrepancies and divergences from original proposal / contract by raising technical queries with projects / client.
ā€¢ Performing cable calculations using Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP), understanding the design parameters that are required
ā€¢ Performing cable calculations using Trimble (Amtech), understanding the design parameters that are required
ā€¢ Using the Trimble software to interpret the output and report information
ā€¢ Identifying protective devices and understanding the discrimination of a power distribution network
ā€¢ Capable of participating in Factory Acceptance Tests.
ā€¢ Participates in multi-discipline Engineering Design Reviews and provides all necessary Electrical engineering input and support to close out actions.
ā€¢ Identifies a clear scope of work and prepares the Master Document Register (MDR). Responsible for planning/scheduling the Electrical Engineering activities and manpower resource. Quantifies total number of engineering deliverables, man-hour allocation format delivery requirements execution work provides necessary regular project controls/reporting input Project Management.
ā€¢ Provides support Procurement including long lead item enquiry prepares Technical Requisitions reviews vendor documentation provides Technical Bid Evaluation support ensure design conformance.
ā€¢ Ensures compatibility conformance client specifications recommends cost effective improvements equipment selection/specifications within scope client specifications requirements.
ā€¢ Consults Quality Assurance any quality issues ensuring compliance client's ISO Quality procedures Project Quality Plan Design Integrity processes procedures.
ā€¢ Performs related duties instructed E,C&I Group Manager.

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:
ā€¢ BSc / BEng with a minimum 5 yearsā€™ experience.

Desirable:
ā€¢ CEng

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience:
ā€¢ Minimum 5 years general engineering experience at least 3 years Nuclear business sector focusing design office field engineering.
ā€¢ Design commissioning HV LV electrical systems provide associated calculations.
ā€¢ Design power distribution systems.
ā€¢ Responsible updating maintaining controlling Electrical Engineering technical documentation.
ā€¢ Experience HV/LV cable sizing design using cable sizing software (ETAP/AMTECH).
ā€¢ Well-developed understanding Matrix management systems organisational structures
ā€¢ Good organizational time management skills
ā€¢ Ability problem-solve effectively
ā€¢ Well-developed interpersonal communication skills
ā€¢ Ability effectively work team
ā€¢ Attention detail
ā€¢ Well-developed computer skills knowledge databases spreadsheets engineering design programs
ā€¢ Understanding British common international standards regulatory authority requirements
ā€¢ Construction commissioning site experience

Desirable:
ā€¢ Good commercial contractual awareness/risk management skills
ā€¢ Experience other disciplines including processing plant construction commissioning operation
