Description

This role will work as part of the Grid Engineering team, responsible for the Grid technology platform used by the Rates, Equities, Fixed Income, FX and RMG businesses. The role will develop and maintain the platform in response to our business' needs as well as IT direction and goals.
The team's primary purpose includes enhancing the technology (Tibco/DataSynapse GridServer) as the underlying platform, managing the Grid infrastructure, building tools, looking for cost/process efficiency and enhancing capacity provisioning with public cloud (AWS/Azure)
The incumbent will need to have a good understanding of Front Office systems, development technology and HPC infrastructure technology. Strong troubleshooting knowledge with both on-prem and cloud.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and build the Grid platform in line with strategic IT architecture
Manage and maintain the Grid platform
Optimize cloud engine performance on Azure and AWS for efficient workload execution
Monitor and optimize the deployment of workloads in cloud environments
Develop and maintain automation tools using Python and Powershell
Manage infrastructure expansions and compliance
Make cost efficiency recommendations
Collaborate with business, quant and other IT teams to deliver on projects
Provide third-line technical support for the technology platform
Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting and resolve production issues.
Collaborate with developers to investigate and fix grid-related issues impacting grid applications
Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes, tools and troubleshooting procedures.
What do you need to succeed?
Requirements
Ability to work in a fast paced high pressure environment, where stability and reliability is critical
5+ years' Experience with large scale Grid computing environments 100,000+ cores (DataSyanpse|Tibco GridServer/IBM Platform Symphony or similar)
Experience developing and supporting grid applications, using Grid APIs, Java/C#/C++
Experience with Azure and/or AWS and coding in Python and Powershell
Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in Tibco GridServer 7.X on Windows Server
Log Analytics (Elasticsearch/SQL/Kibana/Grafana)
Proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Azure
Advanced Scripting skill using Python and Powershell for automation
Developer knowledge of Java/C#/C++ with experience in client driver API integration
Windows Server 2019/2022
Enterprise monitoring tools, Geneos
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Nive to have:
Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
Jenkins
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for distributed systems
