Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Machinery) – Contract

Location: Oxfordshire (On-site)
Contract: 3 months initially (possible extension to 6 months)
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £35-£40 per hour (DOE)

About this Position:

Our client, a leading engineering company in Oxfordshire, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves working with rotating machinery and complex assemblies within a heavy engineering environment. You will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, handling high-precision components, and contributing to the commissioning and operation of intricate mechanical systems.

Job Responsibilities:

* Work with rotating machinery, mixing equipment, motors, drives, and seals.
* Interpret and work precisely from engineering drawings.
* Ensure accurate assembly and mechanical commissioning of equipment.
* Consider temperature cycles in mechanical designs.
* Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
* (Bonus) Engage with suppliers and vendors to source components and resolve technical issues.



Experience Required:

* 5-10+ years of engineering experience.
* Proven expertise in heavy engineering, mechanical commissioning, and rotating machinery.
* Strong knowledge of seals, motors, drives, and temperature cycles.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances.
* Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach.



Desirable:

* Experience liaising with suppliers and vendors.
