About The Role
As a Senior Contract Accountant, you’ll play a key role in understanding the drivers of our business and ensuring commercial success. Through effective business partnering, you’ll enhance service levels, manage risks, and deliver actionable insights that improve financial performance.
Your Key Responsibilities
Commercial Support
- Partner with financial and non-financial stakeholders to guide operational decision-making.
- Attend key site and client meetings to build relationships and provide financial insights.
- Deliver proactive financial analysis to support business unit decisions.
- Manage financial risks and opportunities, including those linked to balance sheet maintenance and contract mechanisms.
Performance Excellence
- Prepare essential business reports, including month-end summaries, client updates, budgets, and cash analyses.
- Train operational teams to understand and utilize financial data for performance improvement.
- Review monthly balance sheets; identifying risks and opportunities for senior stakeholders.
- Promote working capital improvements through accurate billing; debt management; timely query resolution.
- Support budgeting; forecasting; client tenders by consolidating data; analyzing variances; preparing presentations.
- Ensure successful execution of mobilisation actions in line with project timelines.
People & Relationships
- Work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
- Mentor/support junior team members deliver training for new team members/operators.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills:
- Actively studying or qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA at the Strategic Level.
- Proven experience in management accounting including adjustments/commercial reporting.
- Exceptional analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to partner effectively with non-finance professionals.
Desirable Skills:
- Adaptability to changing environments/business needs
- Proficiency in Excel Macros/VBA
- Familiarity with SAP/Cognos reporting tools
Performance Standards:
- Excellent communication skills both written/verbal engage finance/non-finance professionals
