Job Summary
The Tritech Institute and Innovation division (part of the Research and Innovation Department at Hywel Dda University Health Board) aims to support the development and evaluation of innovative solutions in healthcare (both technologies and more general innovations). Tritech has a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, scientists, and engineers who have a track record of working with companies, academics, and innovators to support investigations and evaluations to contribute to benefits for patients, staff, and the wider health economy. The principal project manager will be a key member of the team and be expected to work without supervision, developing and problem-solving on a wide range of highly complex duties. They will support the management of the Tritech and Innovation division and provide leadership across the broad spectrum of activity delivered by Tritech. The range of assigned tasks will be carried out with the highest standard to support Tritech's research and innovation agenda. This health board-wide and externally facing post will also be tasked with developing clinical investigators, securing funding, representing the Health Board in working with academia, pharma, industry, and the third sector to increase innovation within Hywel Dda University Health Board. Success will ultimately be measured by the research activity generated, impact on patient outcomes, and income generated to support the ongoing viability of the venture.
Main Duties
The Main Duties Of This Senior Role Will Be:
- Lead and manage the programme of work at the Tritech Institute
- Ensure achievement of yearly key performance indicators.
- Support management of wider Tritech
- Include clinical scientists
- Research nurses
- Research assistants.
- Responsible for developing new research projects
- Work with internal/external partners.
- Prepare funding bids/commercial collaboration documents.
- Ensure promotion/delivery objectives align with Research & Innovation strategy.
