About The Role
We're looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to architect and maintain our platform core services and infrastructure. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building scalable, high-performance systems and enjoys empowering cross-functional teams through reliable backend services. You'll design and implement backend services that empower our Product vision, optimise cloud infrastructure to ensure our systems are secure, resilient, ready for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy: Shape the backend architecture technical direction supporting our Product vision implementing business rules domain models ensuring scalability security reliability.
- Backend Service Development: Build maintain core services Product Catalogue user Profiles Asset Management.
- API Design & Development: Create robust well-documented APIs internal external use comprehensive contract testing verification.
- Build Deployment & Release Management: Ensure reproducible builds provisioning deployment releases leveraging modern techniques Infrastructure Code GitOps automated deployment methodologies.
- Observability High Availability & Scalability: Ensure high system reliability performance implementing strong observability practices including comprehensive metrics collection structured logging actionable dashboards proactive alerting Design fault-tolerant systems ready growth implementing stress testing disaster recovery.
- Security & Access Management: Implement secure authentication authorization mechanisms maintaining security compliance data protection across all systems.
- Ways Working & Cross-functional Collaboration: Lead technical proposals RFCs contribute Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) align engineering efforts Partner frontend developers data engineers ML teams ensure seamless integration.
Requirements Desirable Experience

- Scalable Backend Development Designing implementing scalable backend services using modern programming languages Kotlin Python Go Java open-source frameworks Ktor Quarkus FastAPI Gin.
- Cloud Computing Experience AWS services ECS S3 Lambda API Gateway CloudFront equivalent cloud platforms.
- Database Management Working SQL PostgreSQL MySQL NoSQL DynamoDB MongoDB databases including query optimization indexing strategies.
