We’re looking to add a Staff Engineer to the Buying product group.
Overview:
Staff Software Engineers are highly productive, impactful, and trusted engineers who leverage their skills and knowledge to work autonomously on the most complex projects and set technical direction. Very complex problems can include those that are very broad, very deep, or problems that require spanning across many teams.
Team Importance:
The Buying group is essential to the growth and success of HubSpot, being responsible for the end-to-end rep-driven buying experience, which is the primary driver of revenue for the business. Our teams partner closely with sales and contract management to provide best-in-class quoting, renewals, approvals, and purchasing experiences. By joining our team you will have the opportunity to solve for an engaged customer base, notably impact the business’ growth and operate with a significant level of autonomy and creativity. You will have the opportunity to partner with our product and engineering leaders and leverage AI to influence the overall product direction of the group.
Responsibilities:
- Write and ship production code that has meaningful user and business impact.
- Envision, build, and analyze new features and tools contributing to company growth.
- Work with a small cross-functional team of engineers, PMs, designers, content designers, researchers.
- Collaborate with HubSpotters all over the company in various departments including engineering, product design research marketing sales etc.
- Help HubSpot users meet their goals via changes made.
- Implement experiments that provide valuable insights into user behavior for improving their experience.
- Gain exposure on how HubSpot works as a business.
- Be empowered to show up as your authentic self choosing a work style/location where you can do your best work (home office or blend).
Qualifications:
We’re not just looking for engineers with many years of experience; we seek engineers who also have a track record of unique excellence leadership leveling up those around them.
Technical Skills:
- Experience primarily working with Java; specific technologies are secondary to strong programming fundamentals.
What We’d Like To See:
- A passion for clean scalable code along with product feature development innovation.
- Experience working closely contributing ideas feedback in collaboration with product management designers exceeding customer needs.
- Excitement about big technical challenges while being close to business go-to-market strategies.
- Experience working alongside Go To Market teams internal product teams business process automation customized CRM implementations preferred but not required.
- Interest in developing data analysis skills; familiarity diving into Amplitude Looker Excel or other data analysis tools collaborating ops analytics teams is beneficial.
Collaboration Skills:
The ability collaboratively solve problems transfer knowledge develop overall architecture within products coaching mentorship experience partnering successfully recruiting building remarkable engineering teams.
