Electrical Hardware Engineer

Key Skills:
- Electrical panel / cubical design and drawing experience in CAD software, such as Ebase, Creo Parametric etc.
Required Skills:
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
- Fluent and efficient user of Ebase, Creo Parametric, the IM2 document management system and other design tools.
- Strong understanding of the modularity and configurability of the eLumina cabinet hardware design.
- Experienced in developing electrical designs for industrial control systems.
- Demonstrated track record of designing quality systems/components that exceed design requirements, beat cost targets, and exceed reliability targets.
- Knowledge of industrial communication networks such as IEC61850 and Ethernet based protocols.
- Understanding of EMC and how to maintain designs which minimize related issues.
- Electrical fault-finding skills, with adherence to highest safety procedures.
- Working knowledge of industrial and utility electrical control and protection systems and Digital Control Systems, Substation Automation.
- Knowledge of Networking & Cybersecurity systems.
Job Profile Summary:
Responsible for leading the overall design, maintenance, and implementation of the standard HVDC Control and Protection System Cabinets. This includes creating the control cabinet design documentation, interconnection diagrams, design guides and overseeing the system roll out processes. They will work across various engineering disciplines within the HVDC business.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This role involves leading the team and providing guidance in the following tasks:
1. Maintain and manage the evolution of standard cabinet designs and their associated datapacks.
2. Publish and deliver a regular release plan for each product along with its supporting standard documentation/tools; ensuring that cabinet datapacks/How to Design Guides are always project-ready.
3. The Datapack documentation includes circuit diagrams, wire/cable lists assembly drawings BoMs test spec configuration specs.
4. Regularly review Technical Queries (TQs) from approved manufacturers; queries received from clients relating to products/their associated standardized documentation; feedback from Project Engineers.
5. Prioritize/agreement with solution owners on clarifications/updates for next periodic standard datapack update.
6. Continually seek execution efficiencies through task standardization required to support product delivery from manufacture through site installation.
7.Working with type test specialists within Product Care team to keep type test certification/reports up-to-date/available in acceptable form for clients.
8.Assist in designing/standardizing LANs / Communication Architectures/configuration of industrial ethernet switches/routers/satellite clocks.
9.Manage/update/enforce compliance with departmental standard design practices/guidelines/processes across all projects."
