Our aim is to create a more modern assessment delivery system that sets us up for the future, supports our Senior Associates better in their role by building associate capacity across the system, further supports our customers, and delivers the best outcomes for learners. As part of a programme of modernisation, we are taking the opportunity to update our senior associate roles and responsibilities across our qualifications. The Content Author is there to produce error-free, factually accurate assessments that align with the subject specification.

When carrying out your role, please be mindful that you represent Pearson and that you should always maintain your professional integrity. Therefore, it is essential that you:

- Attend any meetings or training sessions provided relevant to your role where requested by Pearson.
- Adhere to deadlines given by Pearson ensuring all work is carried out at an individual’s best ability.
- Remain respectful while advocating for others promoting diversity, equity, inclusion in a professional manner when carrying out services on behalf of Pearson.
- Have personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson software with relevant malware protection software installed along with suitable internet connection; also maintain personal secure email account.
- Communicate with Pearson centers timely when carrying out designated responsibilities.
- Raise any concerns if you suspect or become aware of malpractice or safeguarding issues.
Role Specific Services And Expectations

- Ensure assessment materials comply with Global Content Policy supporting accessibility diversity equality inclusion sensitivity guidelines fully.
- Ensure high quality production covering sufficient assessment criteria as set forth within applicable guidelines produced materials must meet appropriate ability range resulting good discrimination differentiation levels designed test against them effectively
- Advise on subject specialist matters throughout production process providing feedback necessary
- Adhere production schedules turnaround requests keeping informed availability affecting deadlines
- Ensure candidates may choose between questions demonstrate permitted combination provides similar balance content coverage required
- Produce materials meeting demand level ensuring clarity purpose error-free questions
- Provide accurate sources used allowing request copyright permission use material where applicable
- Ensure graphics photographs diagrams images from reputable sources free errors
- Ensure nature range responses required mark scheme appropriate correct
- Comply demands current specification regarding duration paper reading preparation time number questions items aspects concerned rubric clear reflects requirements
- Avoid unnecessary repetition questions distractors informing answers others
- Review report clearly marking comments producing revised materials needed throughout process attending sign-off meeting(s) required providing feedback drafts stage updating associated materials signing off final assessments supporting reviewing agreeing modified paper amendments requested
Experience: Experience And Qualifications Required
As representative company expected have experience able demonstrate following:
Excellent communication skills
In-depth knowledge understanding specific content area (e.g., assessments curriculum development)
Proven ability provide co-coordinate training
Proven track record leading quality assurance activities
