A leading London-based IT consultancy is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Azure Data Consultant with experience in the Fintech sector to join their team.
Key Responsibilities for the Role:
- Data Architecture & Engineering – Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure data platforms on Microsoft Azure, tailored to the unique challenges of the FinTech sector.
- Azure Expertise – Utilise Azure Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and other Azure data services to build high-performing, cloud-native data solutions.
- ETL & Data Pipelines – Develop and optimise data ingestion and transformation pipelines using best practices to ensure efficiency, reliability, and compliance with financial regulations.
- Client Engagement & Presales – Work closely with clients to understand their business needs, shape innovative data solutions, and contribute to proposals, bids, and pre-sales activities.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship – Lead and mentor data engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with business leaders, architects, and data analysts to align data strategies with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Innovation & Best Practice – Stay at the forefront of industry trends; contributing to internal thought leadership; ensuring our clients benefit from the latest advancements in data engineering.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Data Services including Azure Fabric; Databricks; Synapse; and data warehousing solutions.
- Strong expertise in data engineering; ETL development; large-scale data transformation in the cloud.
- Proven ability to design/implement scalable data architectures that meet complex business requirements in regulated environments.
- Experience in leading/mentoring technical teams ensuring high standards in delivery/best practices.
- Strong stakeholder management skills; experience engaging senior business leaders/architects/analysts.
- Expertise in presales activities including solution design/proposal writing/delivering compelling client presentations.
- A passion for cloud technologies/data innovation/driving digital transformation in the FinTech sector.
