Duration: 12-month contract
Rate: £490 per day/PAYE
Location: Hybrid in Glasgow (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
Cititec Talent is partnering with a reputable financial institution to find a highly skilled Core Server-Side Java Developer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global front-office team responsible for developing software supporting real-time trading in the Equity Swaps space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within an agile team to develop and maintain a system of Java services that interact via messaging to generate real-time product outputs.
- Write high-quality unit tests, document new features, and contribute to the test cycle. Propose automation solutions for testing and deployment.
- Work flexibly across Java, stored procedures, and scripts as needed.
- Participate in a global Level 3 production support rota, providing platform support.
Experience Required:
- Strong expertise in Core Java (server-side), including data structures, concurrency, and open-source libraries.
- Familiarity with Spring, JUnit, and Linux.
- Proficiency in relational databases such as Sybase and/or DB2, SQL query development, and performance optimisation.
- Experience with message-based architectures (JMS, MQ, Kafka) and MongoDB.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience in financial services, particularly in Equities.
Please note that occasional support for weekend deployments alongside the release team may be required.
