JOB ROLE INFORMATION
St Pancras Clinical Research is offering an excellent opportunity to recent graduates to join a graduate training scheme in London or Chester designed to develop key skills relating to clinical trial work and expand oneβs knowledge of commercial drug trials.
Starting in April 2025, the scheme will run for twelve months and will introduce successful candidates to all aspects of running a successful commercial clinical trial, whilst also developing practical skills. You will get exposure to multiple therapeutic areas such as cognition, chronic pain, and neuropsychiatry.
The scheme has three areas of focus and aims to give you exposure to both the clinical, operational and patient-facing areas of clinical trials. The scheme will arm you with all the necessary knowledge and skills to have a successful career in the clinical trial industry. You will be supported during the scheme by our heads of departments during each rotation, as well as your specific line manager and our supportive HR team.
We are looking for candidates that can demonstrate their ability to learn and apply their knowledge practically, and that are adaptable and hard-working. Clinical trial work requires diligence, attention to detail, competent time-management and multi-tasking skills as well as an aptitude for problem-solving and excellent communication skills. Successful candidates will need to be committed to the scheme and all training involved to ensure they benefit from participating, and we are looking for candidates that are prepared to go the extra mile to develop their knowledge and skillset.
Focus Area One: Patient Engagement, Recruitment and Retention
- You will receive protocol inclusion and exclusion criteria training, as well as pre-screening training
- You will learn to apply the protocol appropriately
- Support patients on their journey from initial interest
- To a screening visit for a trial
Focus Area Two: Laboratory and/or Pharmacy
- Master laboratory skills across all ongoing clinical trials at St Pancras such as sample processing
- Shipment management
- Opportunity (trial focus allowing)
- Work in pharmacy team on unblinded or blinded IMP preparation including IMP reconciliation
Focus Area Three: Clinical Trials Administration
- Opportunity working closely on a specific clinical trial supporting Study Coordinator with day-to-day coordination of patients
- Working independently on trial related tasks
- Basic clinical trial administration training focusing on data entry management; AE reporting; scheduling of trial procedures visits; quality assurance
- Further exposure regulatory compliance procedures
Scheme Structure:
0 - 6 months - focus area one
6 - 12 months - focus area two three continuing with skills developed during focus area one

Stage Three - progression stage three applicants attend an in-person interview with interview panel complete short assessment site (prepared interview no prior preparation required)
Stage Four - applicants attend second in-person interview leadership team
Stage Five - employment offers made successful applicants
