Site Engineer
Description
Our client, a Tier 1 contractor is recruiting Site Engineers. Ensuring the OHL Transmission works on site are delivered on time, right first time, safely and to budget. The Engineers will drive the delivery of essential subcontractor partners to facilitate the delivery of the OHL planned work. The Engineers will be expected to work with the Site Manager / Project Engineers as required and directed to deliver and manage the OHL element of works, which can include steel work replacement, OHL fittings replacement or full OHL refurbishment.
The Engineers will be expected to understand the delivery principles of OHL works & the basic design requirements to allow physical works to take place safely and efficiently.
The Engineers will support delivery on time to ensure that the highest standards of safety, sustainability, environmental and quality are implemented.
To maintain a collaborative working environment which ensures client, internal and other stakeholders’ requirements are effectively managed, and employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver.
Role Accountabilities
- Understand delivery risks to achieve targets and deliver tasks
- Appreciation regarding relevant commercial terms for your work allocation
- Pro-actively manage the customer relationship during delivery, including change and decision making to effectively manage expectations
- Support Promote Health / Prevent Harm (PH2) and drive for continuous improvement across SHEQ
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures across all functions including H & S, Environmental and Quality
- Participate in Safety Tours on allocated projects and drive safe working practices
- Undertake required site audits in line with tasks & Sensible Monitoring Schedule
- Support timely incident investigations
- Ensure Documentation is in place to enable teams to commence works
- Collaborate relentlessly to ensure resources are utilised in the most efficient way on the project
Role Responsibilities
- Ensure solid working relationships as one project team to deliver planned works.
- Plan the delivery of your work package using necessary resources and skills within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, quality safely.
- Instil a strong safety culture; take personal responsibility through strong visible leadership.
- Drive yourself and others comply with all business policies procedures governance.
- Ensure accurate record keeping is maintained; change is controlled documented.
- Day-to-Day control regarding Setting-to-work of Subcontractors as allocated Temporary Works Supervisor.
About you
- HNC or above in a related subject
- Industry experience within construction
- OHL subcontractor experience
- Experience in delivering Overhead Line industry schemes up 400kV preferable
- Team Leadership / Supervision
- Visible on-site driven delivering right first-time safely
- Capable documenting/managing change/Accurate recording information
- Strong relationship management
- Ability work across conflicting interest groups develop solutions
- Driving Licence
- Willingness travel
