Location: Newton Abbot, TQ12
Company Overview:
We are working in partnership with a highly reputable manufacturing company based in Newton Abbot currently recruiting for a Mechanic with immediate starts. The company specializes in converting and manufacturing wheelchair accessible vehicles and you will be joining a dedicated team with strong sales orders and a backlog of vehicles to complete. The business goes from strength-to-strength year on year, and production shows no signs of slowing down, which is the reason for the recent influx of recruitment for the site. The site heavily promotes internal promotion with many of the team progressing from shop floor to management positions.
Duties:
- Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing
- Conduct inspections and identify mechanical issues
- Work with tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards
About You:
- Previous experience as a mechanic (preferred)
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
Working Hours & Pay:
- 8am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
- £12.00ph
- Overtime paid at x1.5 after 40 hours
- Annual performance-related bonuses (twice-a-year reviews)

Additional Skills:
Do you have any skills within fabrication, manufacturing, wiring, welding, assembly, carpentry or use of power tools? Or do you have an interest on weekends in tinkering, building or restoration? If so, you have the skills we are looking for.

Successful candidates will be pro-active team workers who liaise and cooperate with all members of staff. They must operate within the confines of company policy and procedure requirements including integrity and confidentiality regarding the business. Candidates should abide by health and safety legislation concerning themselves as well as others.
