As we grow, we’re seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst for a short-term contract to provide clarity and structure to our data processes and calculations related to credit card mechanics.
Your Mission
We are seeking a passionate and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. This is a role for a person who loves data and credit systems, with a curiosity to deeply understand how to interpret data and applies due care and consideration in creating structured and documented processes. This role focuses on collecting, cleaning, analysing, documenting, and explaining the intricate mechanics of credit cards, from minimum payment calculations to arrears management. Your work will ensure that complex processes are accurately represented, well-documented, and accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Card Mechanics Documentation
- Develop clear, structured documentation explaining credit card processes such as:
- Minimum payment due calculations.
- Statement generation timelines and triggers.
- Due dates and their relationship to payment schedules.
- Arrears calculations and tracking.
- Create examples and use cases to simplify complex calculations for diverse audiences.
Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyse credit card transaction and account data to validate the accuracy of calculations and business logic.
- Provide insights to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
Structured Coding & Version Control
- Write clean, well-structured code to support data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
- Build data quality checks alongside analysis reports.
- Implement best practices in version control to maintain code qualityand reproducibility.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of credit card mechanics including payment calculations,
statement generation,
due dates,
and arrears processes from a data perspective.
- Exceptional documentation skills with the ability
to understand
and present complex calculations in a simple,
structured manner.
- Proficiency in SQL
and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Experience with version control principles; experience with version control repositories such as Git would be differential.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
and attention
to detail.
