Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare, stage, set up, and manage the startup and shutdown of equipment (eg, racks, hard drives, Switches) by following detailed instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.
- Perform quality checks after execution to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling in line with safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues using standard procedures; quickly identify the root causes; replace faulty components.
- Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (eg, memory upgrades; OS rebuilds) by following standard procedures with minimal supervision.
- Communicate; report; escalate incidents to the appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads as per procedures.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware; Servers; components.
- At least 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook; Excel; Word).
- Flexibility to work non-standard business hours including weekends and/or holidays. The work schedule is Monday through Friday within core business hours between 7 AM and 7 PM.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- Lace-up steel or composite toe boots that cover the ankle have a slip-resistant sole meet the specifications set forth in the American Society of Testing Material (ASTM) International Standard F2413-05 for protective (safety) toe cap footwear.
- High visibility vests.
