Our client (within the energy/ sustainability sector) is looking for a skilled and passionate Software Developer to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create scalable and efficient solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Debug and resolve software issues, improving system performance and reliability.
- Implement automated testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Optimize and refactor existing codebases to improve functionality and efficiency.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in software development.
- Proven experience working with modern programming languages and frameworks.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript or C#.
- Experience with front-end and back-end development including frameworks like React, Angular Node.js or Django.
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL & NoSQL).
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines & containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical & problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-tech stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently & as part of a remote team.
• Adaptability & willingness to learn new technologies.
Bonus Points:
• Experience with microservices architecture & API development.
• Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
• Relevant certifications in cloud computing DevOps or software engineering.
Additional Information:
Please note – this role is outside of IR35 contract role. Likely for 8 months. The successful candidate will need to register as a PSC company with companies house & be responsible for deducting their own Tax & NI from HMRC.
