My client is looking for an experienced Life Actuary to support their risk function through 2025.
You will support the 2nd Line function primarily to validate changes to the Internal model. You will also gain exposure to reviewing Matching Adjustments. The business is offering an outside IR35 day rate contract.
The business is looking for a qualified actuary with experience in a 2nd line role. The ideal candidate will have strong credit risk knowledge.
Start: ASAP Q1 2025
Duration: 6 months initial contract
Location: South West. Full home working contract considered but you MUST be UK based. No overseas working will be considered.
Status: Outside IR35
Rate: Disclosed on application and dependant on experience.
Required experience
• Qualified Life Actuary
• Previous experience in a 2nd line role working on internal model validation
• Strong knowledge of Credit Risk. Corporate bond spread risk would be of particular interest.
• Knowledge of matching adjustments is an advantage but not mandatory
• Strong communication skills

Key Skills
• Proven expertise in Pillar 2 of the Solvency II framework, particularly in the context of life insurance.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large data sets and perform risk analysis and financial modeling.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of discussing technical subjects with stakeholders within and outside the actuarial department.
• Professional experience in managing regulatory relationships and compliance processes.
• A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a highly regulated environment.
