Summary:

A Quantity Surveyor is a key professional in our multi disciplined Civil Engineering business, who is responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects. This includes new constructions, renovations, and maintenance work. The role ensures that projects are completed within budget and to the required quality standards, providing value for money for both the business and its clients while meeting legal and quality standards.

Specific Responsibilities/Tasks:

Daily:
- Receive email from Faults Supervisor daily, detailing prior day’s faults completed, ensuring that this detail is entered and collated into the master faults log and entered onto Synergy system accurately using relevant set of codes to ensure claims are accurate for the work the Company has completed.
- Retrieve detail from daily email from Faults Supervisor including track sheets provided by operational teams. Ensuring that the track sheets are uploaded and attached to the Work Instruction to the relevant job; also ensuring photographs which are within Acumen system are also attached to the relevant work instruction.
- Any additional claims (e.g., reinstatement of private concrete driveways) where Doocey’s have incurred a cost must also be accounted for; receive emails from reinstatement supervisor containing quotes for works to be completed. Once received liaise with Team Managers to seek approval for quotation; once approved ensure reinstatement supervisor is informed; attach quotation to corresponding work instruction.
- Receive excel spreadsheet detailing any jobs which are ‘On Hold’ or Disputes from customer on a daily basis which includes detailed lists of every invoiced claimed against each contract area with comments from customer against each individual job. Review comments made; liaise with relevant Team Manager who made comment either raise credit if required or provide any supporting information.
- Receive daily emails from line Manager detailing outstanding invoices requesting jobs to be invoiced. Review if all work has been completed; reinstatement is complete; site is clear communicating back line Manager once jobs ready invoicing those that aren’t ensure communicate list jobs ready invoicing those not.
- Raising any missing invoices ensuring job fully completed prior sending completed invoice client.
- Liaise with customer regarding nonpayment invoices prompting them timely manner ensuring payment received.
- Liaise with StreetWorks team within timely manner update mapping status/R notice status.
- Organise miscellaneous orders Locarno yard e.g., stationery sundries ensuring keep costs minimum.
- Ensure all hard copies documents kept orderly fashion chronological order filing system.

Weekly:
- Every Wednesday attend participate review meeting line Manager review all data entry week prior ensure all claims accurate all work accounted for.
- Ensure Depot visits completed once week meeting Team Managers areas seeking payment approval providing evidence discussing disputes held against jobs.
- Reinstatement Information Sheets (RIF) received Reinstatement team leader each reinstatement job has been completed behalf client expectations inputting data these sheets synergy attach sheet supporting evidence ensuring this complete 12pm every Thursday preparation costing meeting.

Ad hoc:
- Any other tasks requested by your line manager.
- Attend mandatory training courses defined within company training matrix.
- Keep up date legislation record ‘Continued Professional Development’ (CPD).

Qualifications & Training:
- A comprehensive knowledge Microsoft Office software especially Microsoft Word PowerPoint Excel
- GCSE’s Grade 9–4 or equivalent
- RICS qualified equivalent working towards
- Proven experience quantity surveying preferably Civil Engineering industry

Technical Skills & Experience:
- Self-driven results-oriented ‘can do’ attitude without compromising safety compliance
- Ability collaborate various stakeholders including employees management regulatory agencies community
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention detail reading reports accurately compiling relevant data them
