Contract Duration: 12 months
Hourly Rate: £60.00 (Limited Company Rate)
Start Date: Immediate
IR35 Status: Likely outside IR35 (subject to assessment)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join a leading client on a Pre-FEED and FEED project. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with a strong background in power system design for energy transition projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual designs for onshore and/or offshore energy transition projects
- Size and select 132kV / 11kV equipment, large frequency converters, AC/DC UPS systems, and other critical electrical infrastructure
- Contribute to the development of electrical philosophies for projects
- Perform Power Systems Studies (ETAP or equivalent)
- Oversee brownfield tie-ins at existing plants and ensure designs are integrated efficiently
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in designing power systems for energy transition projects
- Proven expertise in Pre-FEED and FEED work
- Strong background in sizing and selection of electrical equipment, including high-voltage systems and frequency converters
- Experience in conducting Power Systems Studies (ETAP or similar)
- Ability to handle brownfield tie-ins within existing plant environments
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Working Arrangement:
The Principal Electrical Engineer role is based in Leatherhead with possible hybrid working options (up to two days remote).
