Summary
SailGP is looking for interim freelance support in our Global Communications team as we enter the US and EMEA leg of our 2025 Season Calendar. The Communications Manager will support the Head of Strategic Communications to coordinate communications plans across SailGP’s global calendar and manage delivery of overall efforts to drive visibility and engagement for the global racing championship. This role will be responsible for delivery of effective communications strategies across earned and owned media that significantly raise awareness for SailGP.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Global Communications team under the direction of the Global Communications Director and Head of Strategic Communications.
- Responsible for delivering communications tactics against League’s strategic planning.
- Work closely with regional communications leads to share global league strategy.
- Coordinate communications plans and manage delivery back to global communications team.
- Support agency management at a global level (strategy, consultancy, project briefs etc) – act as daily point person for account management.
- Deliver editorial assets (press releases, briefs, messaging docs etc).
- Support HoSC with project management of communication remit on business priority projects for 2024 – 2025 season (example priority projects include Betting, Better Sport evolution).
- Work closely with partnerships and commercial departments to deliver ROI on campaigns from creative storytelling.
- Oversee measurement & reporting framework; deliver regular business updates supporting overall objectives.

About You
Significant years of relevant experience preferred. Excellent verbal/written/analytical/organizational communication skills required. Knowledge of global media landscape; established sustainable media or agency connections preferred. Proven experience/success in PR/media industry essential. Strong interest in sport & entertainment necessary. Native English speaker preferred.
Location
This freelance contract role allows flexibility in location but prefers candidates near either SailGP Hubs in London or New York City USA. While independent contractors remain so they may be required regular collaboration with teams onsite.
