With a thriving, growing art community, Mooncolony is seeking a passionate and dedicated freelance Discord Moderator to join our team.The Discord Moderator will play a critical role in building, nurturing, and growing our Discord community, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals. Above all else it’s their responsibility to foster a vibrant community, ensuring our online space remains safe, engaging, informative and supportive.Working as an extension of the Marketing team, the Discord Moderator acts as the voice between Mooncolony and the community, and vice versa.This role requires flexibility in terms of part-time working hours, when the community is most active. The Discord Moderator will report directly to the Senior Marketing Manager.ResponsibilitiesRepresent Mooncolony on Discord and maintain a consistent tone that aligns with the brand voice.Actively manage and moderate the Discord server to ensure a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere, review and moderate user-generated content, enforce rules, and resolve disputes as a mediator.Promptly respond to member's comments or requests, answering questions, and providing support or advice as required.Collaborate with and lead volunteer moderators, sharing best practices and ensuring smooth communication.Assist in executing and delivering engaging content, generating discussions, and organizing online events, such as contests and challenges.Build relationships with key community members, influencers, and advocates to amplify our reach.Implement initiatives to grow the community and maintain high engagement levelsAct as the voice of the community, relaying feedback, sentiment, activity, concerns, and ideas to management and stakeholders.Identify opportunities for improvements and implement changes to enhance community communication and the overall server experience.Skills & RequirementsFamiliarity with the art industry for games and entertainment, including communities, influencers and art learning material.A passion for gaming and active in gaming communities.At least 2 years experience moderating / managing online communities, ideally within art, animation or games industry.Strong knowledge of the Discord platform.Exceptional oral and written communication skills with an ability to develop engaging content and conversation.Ability to create engaging content tailored to the audiences.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment.Experience with data analytics and tools to track and report on community growth and engagement metrics.High flexibility to deal with changes and pressure on short notice, to occasionally cover later hours and/or weekendsConversational knowledge of art for games, with a base understanding of fundamentals.So, if you love working with artists, and being part of a creative, passionate community, not to mention a low-gravity work environment, we'd love to hear from you!Adventures await.
